Triple Solar takes new plant in production

Last month Triple Solar moved the production of its PVT solar panels to Technologies Added in Emmen. With this, the new Triple Solar production facility is located in the first smart factory in the Netherlands. At Technologies Added, like-minded companies can produce together under one roof. It works like having your own factory, but is organized as a shared facility thanks to a unique, flexible assembly concept. Technology Added is an official Fieldlab on the national Smart Industry Agenda. The Smart factory in Emmen is ISO 9001 and Solar Keymark certified.

According to Cees Mager, founder and CEO of Triple Solar, Technology Added fits perfectly with the strong growth that Triple Solar is experiencing: ‘The old production location of Triple Solar had become too small for the now more than 20,000 m2 of PVT panels that annually find their way to partners across Europe. And this number is growing every month.  With these growing numbers, now is the right time to opt for high-tech automation and robotization in our production process.

Mager continues: ‘By producing smarter and analysing the associated data, we minimize the waste of raw materials.  In addition, the robots provide speed and quality. In this way, we are able to make the production process faster, more affordable and more sustainable.’  Triple Solar produces its own PVT solar panels for existing and new buildings in this factory.  The recently introduced new heat pump is made in cooperation with Metrotherm and comes from Denmark.

Joris Bisschop, managing director of Technologies Added: “We are delighted to have a customer like Triple Solar. With this sustainable product, the company fits our mission perfectly. With Technologies Added, we want to offer a home base for the new generation of manufacturing companies that want to stay in control without having to invest in their own factory. We see shared facilities as the ideal solution for the manufacturing industry in the Industry 4.0 era. Especially for innovative SMEs and for start-ups and scale-ups. Combining companies at one location creates a basis for deploying advanced Industry 4.0 solutions. It is no longer necessary to relocate to low-wage countries. It is always better to produce close to the market, also for your ecological footprint.
